Estate Planning brings piece of mind.

Estate Planning is planning for the future for a worry free present. This is accomplished through five major documents that everybody should own.
  1. The Last Will and Testament - The Will is an excellent tool to get simple things done. Plus, it is the only estate planning document that allows you to decide who will look after your minor children both for legal and financial decisions, if the worst case scenario were to happen.
  2. The Trust - The Trust is a step up from the Will. A Trust gives you piece of mind that loved ones will spend the money, as seen fit by you, allowing you to attach strings to the inheritance.
  3. The Durable Power of Attorney - The Durable Power of Attorney allows for a loved one to step into your shoes. The versatility of this tool is used in fields beyond Estate Planning and Probate Law. In Estate Planning and Probate Law the Durable Power of Attorney is used to allow loved ones to make legal decisions for you, if you were to become incapacitated.
  4. The Durable Power of Attorney: Patient Advocate - The Patient Advocate allows for a loved one to make medical decisions for you, if you become incapacitated.
  5. The HIPPA Release Form - The HIPPA release form allows for a loved one to be kept informed regarding your health. If you do not have one, every time you would want the doctor to update your loved one, you would need to be consulted.

This is the general plan everybody should have. At Drissman Law, we take this general plan and tailor it to your individual needs, whether that means doing all five as a package or eliminate the unnecessary ones to save you time and money.
